You don't need website links, just a modicum of common sense!

I imagine having your account closed and perhaps a CIFAS marker against you would affect your credit history. What do you think?

Preetpal, I would suggest that you wouldn't have posted on this forum unless you thought the transfer was suspicious.

It doesn't sound like a perfectly legitimate business. The source of his funds may be legitimate (i.e. he is actually providing a service for which he is being paid), but how he is treating them is almost certainly not legitimate. He may very well be fabricating invoices or similar and then making these kinds of transfers so it seem as though he is incurring expenses.

Oh right. Not just money laundering. Also tax evasion. Nice.

Tax evasion is illegal. There is most certainly something illegitimate about him.

It is not illegal as such
That will be for the NCA to determine when they investigate the matter after the OP's bank account got locked. We don't know the full story, and the OP might not know it either, but tax evasion, which the OP has given as a reason, is certainly illegal.

Oh look, posts have been deleted.

Maybe the OP has realised what a mistake he could be making.

Annoying though - why do people seem to think that they should delete their request, simply because they realise it was naive/wrong/mistaken/whatever - the point of the forum is to discuss things - and deleting the opening post makes the discussion, and lessons learned from it, meaningless. It's a very selfish thing to do. Doesn't help anyone at all.

For the record, the opening post began with the words:
Hi, My close and self employed friend wants to transfer 3500£ in my UK personal account from his business account and then has asked me to ...

which is from the google cache - but I can' seem to get any more right now.

The rest of it was about transferring it to his/her personal account for a few hours....
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.
