Independent servicing in Erdington

Hi guys,
I'm going to be in Brum, specifically the Erdington area for the next couple of weeks for work and although I'm going to be using the car a lot, I'm hoping to use the opportunity to get its annual full service sorted... I was weighing up the c.£140 deal National are offering but if anyone has any non-national chain suggestions, I'd always consider them first.
Just looking for an honest, genuine local garage if that's even possible in this particular part of town. - don't worry, I'm free to insult, half my family are from there, that's who I'm staying with
Thanks.

Fair point! I should have covered that in my OP. They're a mixed bunch to be fair, a mix of national chains users and attitudes of 'I'll fix it when it breaks.' Not my way of doing things! A cousin once sold a Feista that he'd driven for 5 years and literally done nothing to it - as a good will gesture when he sold it he thought he'd offer it up for a new service, which he did himself. I heard from his Dad that when they released the sump plug they waited for around ten minutes before about 3x single globules of oil-based sludge emerged... - they're not the best people to ask you seeShaun_of_the_Dead wrote: »Who do the family use, the must have at least one car?

Friend of mine regularly uses one of the garages on Tyburn Road close to the junction with the Outer Circle. Would have to find specific details though0

Thanks, if you do get the chance to find out, please let us know! I'd much rather go off of a real recommendation.The_IT_Fairy wrote: »Friend of mine regularly uses one of the garages on Tyburn Road close to the junction with the Outer Circle. Would have to find specific details though0 -
I was born and bred there, i know you ideally wanted to avoid chains, i always found the National place on Slade Rd to be decent - but i escaped from the area about 12 years ago so staff/management prob changed a lot..0
