Hi everyone, I am in need of some serious advice as this has been an ongoing problem for the past two years and I am at witts end to say the least
So it all started fine, I moved here from South Africa in jul 2015, opened a bank account, got on the electoral stole and got a phone contract all perfect. I moved houses in Oct 2015 and have been living here ever since. When i first moved in my house name would not show on drop down menus and was not listed under Royal Mail. This is where things get hairy. So the postcode I live at has about 20 different addresses listed under it. Now I have always entered the same and correct address manually however I feel as if and my credit profile seems to confirm my suspicions that my creditors have just been selecting random addresses under my postcode when doing a.searcg and opening new credit agreements with me. Since living at this new address I have taken out 2 more phone contracts, got a credit card and had an overdraft.
I have had to use checkmyfile as it’s been brilliant for me and has given me every bit of information I need. Experian can’t confirm my identity and neither can any of the other credit reference agencies except for equifax however the only thing showing on my equifax report is my twin brothers overdraft!!
On checkmyfile I can see all of my twin brothers credit agreements and some of mine. Some have the incorrect address others have spealt my surname incorrect and some are both. I can see multiple searches done under my name and date of birth with addresses I have never even seen before and I am going to need to raise about 100 different disputes
I have rectified my address with the council and it’s been added to Royal Mail, I can find it on all the drop down menus now even on th credit agencies websites which I couldn’t do before, but these agencies are continuing to use all my incorrect addresses even when I am entering my correct one. And when I tried to search my TransUnion credit report from TransUnion and credit karma. I used the incorrect information letter for letter and it still couldn’t find me, so I entered my correct information and still said it couldn’t find me. I definitely have a credit profile out there somewhere but I fear it’s all in single profiles for my different addresses and it thinks my twin brother and I are the same.
How on earth do I fix this all and surely it can’t be this hard to sort out! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!:beer:

The only critical thing is to raise a dispute over your brother's data being on your files.
As long as your agreements are in the right name and address, don't worry about the searches.
As for TransUnion, it may you have insufficient history on that CRA. Ask if they can manually find you.0 -
Alright brilliant I raised that with equifax last night as a first step.
So by leaving it I will be able to check up in a couple of months and it should all be showing up correct?
What a about all my old credit agreements under the wrong addresses0 -
If they're old (ie closed), I would leave them.
Obviously correct any address on active accounts.0 -
Now that you have corrected everything with Royal Mail is regards to your postcode matching your address..... any creditors you have, you will need to contact and make sure that they have the exact address format that it needs to be.
They will then report to the credit reference agencies with the correct and matching address and that should then merge your accouts to show correctly.
You can always contact the CRA's but you will need to make sure anyone you have credit with, has the correct address format.
If you have other peoples information showing on your credit file, these need to be reported to the relevant CRA..0
