Does this mean I've missed the deadline? I thought there was 5 days from date of on papers before the 28 days began?
  • Sorry for error of original post, it was received on 24th Dec.

That first line means that you do indeed have less time that was once thought.

With a Claim Issue Date of 20th December, and having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Wednesday 22nd January 2020 to file your Defence.

I have adjusted post #5 above to match.
  • Phew! Thanks, although this is less time, I had a sudden panic that the deadline was 28 days from the 20th therefore yesterday for a moment. I'm hoping I am almost there with the defence though. Any other adjustments???

Thanks again, I have read the post suggested and altered the defence. Should I number with second level headings i.e. 11.2, 11.3 etc. or is it ok to just have a new number for each paragraph?
Simple numbering is preferred, that way it is less confusing in court when referring to paragraph 10, rather than paragraph 8, sub-paragraph 4, line 6........... if you see what I mean.
