I had a similar issue with my upstairs flat. To be honest, I wish I'd paid the £1500 to separate the supply. Not only would it have sorted out my water pressure, but my water bills would have been reduced too as I would have been on a water meter rather than fixed rate. Not to mention the peace of mind of being able to shower without risk of it going cold when the downstairs neighbour turned his tap on.
