Banging water pipes

  • Could it be the central heating banging rather than water supply?

    Try bleeding your radiators.

No it's the cold water pipe.

I have bled the radiators recently but it's definitely not the central heating, you can feel the pipe shake if you touch it and turn the cold tap on.

Every 15 minutes..... id guess youve got a toilet leaking somewhere.

Cistern slowly leaks in to the pan, after so long the float valve kicks in, topping up the cistern. Opening and closing of the float valve causes water hammer as seen in the rest of your plumbing.

Thanks I'll have a think about this. I don't think it's my toilet but I'll investigate if my neighbour's is maybe causing the issue.

I'd favour that option as well. Just recently my DD said she heard her cistern very briefly topping up every minute or so. That was because it was leaking into the pan. It's easy to spot just by looking at the water in the pan for any movement in it at all.
That of course assumes it isn't an old style toilet with an overrflow pipe going outside.

Won't fix your problem, but could explain the regular bang.
