Multiple Current Accounts - Why?

This is why I have 3 current accounts...
My main account is a Nationwide FlexPlus, the travel insurance and breakdown cover makes this a good fit for me.
I also have a Lloyds account which I opened so I could deposit cheques locally, but now use the app based mobile cheque deposit facility. I once had my NW debit card swallowed by an ATM, so I was able to transfer money to the Lloyds account and get cash out elsewhere. I've also needed to take out at short notice more than the £300 daily cash allowance, so again moving money between accounts I was able to take more cash out.
I also have a Starling account which I use exclusively for fee free foreign cash withdrawals and other foreign transactions.0 -
You have been a forum member for 4 years and you asking this question, do you not read any of the threads ?
Just a look at their posting history shows it's very possible that they registered 4 years ago with the intentions of being part of the forum, decided against it for whatever reason and then only made a return last September.
Boom, all of a sudden they've only been a member for 3 months, despite their sign up date.0 -
I have 3 current accounts, one money goes into, then I transfer over money to cover direct debts to the 2nd account so in theory an in and out account, the 3rd I have important direct debts come out that I do not want to bounce. Use to use the 3rd when abroad as had no withdrawal fees etc...
Weekly money for food fuel and other purchases are on the 1st account.
Its also handy when arranging a group holiday, hen do, night out, friends can transfer money into 3rd account and I have no worries the money will be spent by accident.
Used to ping money about each month to claim the rewards, alas need to update my accounts to reap such rewardsAspiring to be financially independent.... from my parents!0 -

Really? All I can say is 'Get a life!'
How did anyone manage with a paper statement one a month or even less frequently????
Those days were before online card fraud was commonplace. There's also things like repeating payment scams, which can be hard to deal with. Unmonitored accounts with active cards are an increased risk and claiming back fraud payments from several days ago is generally harder.
I don't need a life though thanks. All I need is a banking app ;-)0 -

The fact they've not posted until 3 months ago means it's possible they haven't been reading the forums.
While we're both stating the obvious that is0 -

I prefer to stick to the facts. People tend to not like it when i'm rightbut then nobody can actually disagree with my previous post. Sure they can clutch at straws and talk about probabilities, but even then they can't disagree with my post
Which all stems from a totally unnecessary rude post from stehouk.
