Morning all..just got up and have a cup of tea ready to wake me up. Cat decided that the smashed up cardboard shape that was holding the steamer in the package was a Good Thing and chewed it to pieces in the night, no mean feat considerng it was almost the same size as him when it started out...Very impressed with the steamer though, floor is practically glowing...Cooker, not so much but it's definitely cleaner. And that's what I was doing with myself at ten last night...
Today I'm cleaning up the cardboard..:)
Nah, today I'm out this afternoon to watch Star Wars again with friends, again with vouchers..Also want to go and watch Jojo Rabbit, it does look funny...and serious, and heartbreaking etc etc..
Books and presents were delivered and happily received so that's that done...Oh's back is quite bad so I'll probably be hoovering after, with a side order of tidying and maybe measuring some of the holes [letterbox, lock etc] in the erstwhile front door. I have a block of wood that I will be using to cut up to fill the holes but motivation to get the jigsaw and workbench out is lacking...and space too...
Hope you all enjoy toddling along [ except Jackie of course, who is a hundred miles an hour] Hey readers along...Slumptious Saturday!

Hello again
Today was meant to be a quiet, do nothing day until DS rang and asked if we could have DGC at lunchtime. His friend is back home for the Christmas hols and so they, and wives, are going out for lunch.
Think we will go to McD's as freezer is currently bare of DGC friendly food. It's cheap and cheerful and they like getting the toy. Although DGD who's 11 going on 19 pretends to be too cool to be bothered!
So our lazy day has livened up. But we love seeing them so will enjoy ourselves. Better to wear out than to rust away, my dad used to say.
Happy Saturday all0 -
Another dull day, at least its not raining, thats something.
Better nights sleep last night, woke at 8.30.........up, showered and dressed.
I was going to suggest we had a wee trip out this morning, but OH announced he was going through his seeds........so that was that. I have a bag partially made, will do a bit more at that probably.
Pan of leek and potato soup on I had some spuds that were starting to go soft, so shoved them in with stock and leeks. So soup for lunch today. Cannot remember whats for supper but think it might be cheese frittata and salad.0 -
Morning all, another grey day here, I've forgotten what the sun looks like
I had rubbish sleep or lack of it (about 3 hrs) and as usual I was doing shifts with Mr Fix It. How come I always get the second shift ? Thanks to whoever sent a me a voucher for the sleepless club :rotfl:
Yesterday I was super productive and even did some decluttering too, then mid afternoon I realised I had forgotten to take my morning meds :doh:No wonder I felt like the energy bunny !
Today we will be taking down the decorations then packing them away. But there's no rush, see I have taken my meds this morning and now cba to do anything. They have kept the pain away though so I mustn't complain. ( but you all know I will !)
I have finished some of my scented candles, does anyone do anything with the remnants ?
I want to have a freezer check and sort out what's what, as I have no idea what's left in either of them. I'm hoping there will be plenty ! I've also got some cheese to vacuum seal (brie and wensleydale with apricots) and then to freeze too. I don't eat it but I'm loathe to waste it, so I'm hoping it will freeze well enough to use in cooking at a later date.
Well enough waffling, I must get myself up and at 'em, all be it in slow motion today
Take care all

Morning all
Dry here but dull, I have stripped the beds and they are just finishing on a hot wash I will hang them out for a while as its quite breezy.
Going to finish cleaning through downstairs after this and OH will do up then we will get the pup out for a long walk, might see if dd wants to come although her pup cant walk very far yet as she is only 12 weeks.
We have treated ourselves to steak tonight so will do some chips to go with it and a stuffed mushroom and a few roasted tomatoes.
My body will go into shock next week !! back to early mornings and healthy eating !!
Had my manicure yesterday and its nice but not as good a job as my normal lady does but ok for a few days, it was a nice bit of pampering.
Right washing is done so will go and hang it out.
Have good days all xx0 -
Hi all,
Grey and drizzly here- I thought it was meant to be nice today.DH is still feeling tired after his stomach bug,he'll not be going anywhere.DGD was meant to be coming & DGS but she is having a friend round so DS said it was ok. Yesterday he &I took DGS in town and went in the museum, then on some rides in the square and finally to mcDs.He palled up with a little boy on a ball pool/trampoline thingy and they had a whale of a time together, I was freezing stood there - he was pink in the face and sweating after all the jumping and chasing :rotfl:Needed a coffee to warm up.
I made a meat pie for tea last night ,using up some pastry I'd made that was in the freezer.Realised it was sweet pastry I'd done for mince pies when I tasted it - oopsThe menfolk still ate it though! Not sure what we'll have tonight, DH only started eating again yesterday and that was only a small amount, maybe he'll just have soup.
Hope you all have a good weekend whatever you are up to x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Afternoon folks. Grey here but not raining. We have had a busy motning. Load of washing in the machine then I stripped the bed. DH will remake it later. Then off to the supermarket for some bits and bobs. Lunch was minestrone soup I picked up in the chilled section. It was packed with veg, pasta and beans and very filling.
We sre chilling this afternoon. Fish, mash and peas with sliced tomato for dinner tonight. Later this evening DH will take ex sil to the hotel ar Bristol Airport. He has a very early flight to Amsterdam tomorrow and then on to Tokyo.
Happycas my Dad used to say wear the old uns out first. I think that's what my kifs are trying to do!
Have a good afternoon folks.
