On electoral roll 7 years but not feeding to Equifax

Options
Hi
I need some advice. I have lived at the same address for 7 years and been on the voters roll all that time. My data doesnt feed to Equifax and it is impacting my score.
Equifax are blaming the council but councils submit yearly.
Anyone else experienced this and does anyone know how I should resolve it?

Ask your council to provide evidence to Equifax - or send it yourself.

They'll hold the data they're provided with. Councils can be a little patchy.

Others have experienced it. It gets resolved.

The fact that it is impacting your score is not relevant as nobody except you will see your score. However, it could be impacting your ability to get credit if a lender were to search only Equifax and be unable to trace you being on the ER. Is your ER entry correct with the other CRA's? Have you actually experienced difficulty in obtaining credit over the last 7 years?
7 years is an awfully long time for this to have been going on. Have you checked that the address that Equifax have recorded for you is exactly the same as appears on the ER?

OP. One thread per topic is enough. It gets confusing if you start multiple threads on the same topic.
I am sure that councils update the ER information in respect of new additions to the ER more often than once a year, but I suppose they may only resubmit existing information on a yearly basis. It is difficult to understand though how they could have failed to provide your details to Equifax for 7 consecutive years. I speculated on your other thread that perhaps there is some sort of address mis-match between the address on the ER and the address that Equifax have for you which is somehow causing this problem. I also asked if the information was correctly showing on the other CRA's.
  • I have noticed this with Equifax this month so gave them a call.

They stated it was because the councils update them annually and within the next 4-6 weeks, it will be updated to show I am on the ER again.

Sounds like it is just a temporary thing until the councils update.

I have the same problem. We moved in April last year.

My other credit reports updated to show the new address pretty quickly but Equifax still show the wrong address.

I moved house in June - Equifax are still not reporting my new and current address but Clear Score and the Credit Club are. I called Equifax on Tuesday and I was told the same as you, that the councils will be updating their systems soon.

The above 3 replies fail to consider that the OP has not moved recently and the problem has been going on for 7 years.
