Grounds for refund?

Hi, I recently bought a new washing machine. Its a well known brand and wasn't cheap. It's a 1400rpm spun, same as my previous machine. However, my clothes are coming out a lot wetter than in my old machine, even when giving them an extra spin. It's taking me 2-3 times longer to dry them in the dryer. I wonder if there are grounds here to return the machine for a refund? My old machine was 8 years old and a cheaper model but performed much better!

Sounds like you're overloading it.0 -
Either you're overloading it or you are selecting a program that isn't spinning at 1400. Newer machines are more complicated than their older counterparts - suggest you look at manual and see what speed the program you are using spins at......you may be surprised.0

Definitely not, it's the same when I put half a load of baby clothes in0

I checked this, and am ensuring the maximum spin setting is selected and it makes no difference 0

What machine is it and what programme are you using ?0

1 out of 2... Not bad :rotfl:
Now what machine?
What cycles are you using?Life in the slow lane0 -
Unlikely after less than a month, but make sure the drain pump isn't (partially) blocked. You may have inadvertently put something in the machine that's clogged it up. (Your manual will tell you how).0

I second this advice. If the machine is spinning at 1400rpm (does it sound as fast as your old machine or does it look and sound slower?) then the problem is surely the drainage of the water being spun out of the clothes.Manxman_in_exile wrote: »Unlikely after less than a month, but make sure the drain pump isn't (partially) blocked. As a first step, clear out the filter if it has one. There may be an errant sock or something in there.0
