Which First Direct switch incentive would apply?

I applied online for a FD current account in late December and specified that my existing current account be switched to my new FD account. The process ended with the message 'Your application has been accepted!' and I was given an application reference number. However, I then received an email from FD saying that I needed to send them documents to verify my identity/ address (which I haven't done yet). Presumably my account wont actually be opened until I send the documents?

Since then FD have increased the switch incentive from £50 to £100.

If I send the identity documents and the switch process goes ahead (and assuming I meet all other requirements) which switch incentive will apply - the one in place when I first applied (£50), the one in place when the account is actually opened (£100?) or the one in place when the switch goes through (£100)?

I've looked at the FD terms and conditions but didn't see anything which answered this question.

£50. It will go from the date the application was started.

Depending on whether you are feeling lucky or not you could call them and cancel your application and then reapply

you might risk losing the original £50 though

Although from what I remember of the application process you kind of lose the will to live about halfway through so you might not think it worth any extra money
