Hello
I have been offered a 28 month 0% interest balance transfer card, which I was hoping to use to pay off my Next Card to avoid the ridiculous interest. I've read conflicting information online on whether I can actually do this as its an account not necessarily a typical "credit card".
Can someone shed some light on if this is actually possible? Or would I need to take out a second credit card for the balance transfer, then use that card to pay off the account? (It makes sense in my head) :rotfl:

If you have another credit card you can pay off your next account, then you can BT the balance to the new card.0

If it’s a store card you can’t balance transfer it.
You either need to pay it off with a 0% purchase cash, or get a 0% money transfer card, transfer the money to your account to pay off the next account, then start paying the card off.0 -
I agree with Gary. A money transfer card is the way forward...

That all makes sense, I only got a little confused because this was on the moneysavingexpert homepage..”Shift credit and store card debt to 28 months 0%”
This made me think I actually could use the BT to pay it off, but couldn’t find confirmation anywhere.0 -

Usually you can't.
Is that comment in bold by card provider or is it something MSE (who should know better) have said...
Will make a big difference.
If it was card provider. Who is it?Life in the slow lane0 -
It was on the homepage, so from MSE themselves.
I haven't read in any small print for specific cards that it IS possible, so I'm not going to risk it. So glad I asked here first or would've taken out the BT card yesterday for absolutely no reason!
Thanks all.0 -

Lets see what they say on this matter.Life in the slow lane0 -
Some credit card providers will allow balance transfers from some store cards. In the past have balance transferred from one of the old Creation issued duet store cards (16 digit number starting with 6) to Lloyds cc.
I think you should establish the format of the number of the Next store card (ie is it a 16 digit number starting with 6) then contact the credit card issuer to find out if they will be able to transfer a balance to it. If it is not a 16 digit number then I would imagine such a transfer is highly unlikely to be possible.0
