Following the recent court case can anyone tell me if this means the couple have the same rights in law as married couples?

Not really a yes/no answer. This should give you the info you need:

Only if you formally sign the paperwork in premises licenced for civil partnerships in the presence of a registrar and two witnesses. You don’t get the rights if you’re just living together! That is not a civil partnership (my civil partnership ceremony is 6 weeks tomorrow) Once you have signed the paperwork then yes the rights are pretty much similar.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200
