Paying for BR

Hi All,
I read the bankruptcy application wrong thinking you could pay £5 instalments until you have enough to pay it off when after applying but now I understand you cannot submit until the full fee is paid.
I understand why there is a fee however I am in debt and I’m not sure I can even afford to pay the fee, I have nothing to sell to make up the money.
How have other people managed to pay the fee when in debt?
You can’t use credit card because this is fraud, correct?
I know there are charities but this isn’t always guaranteed, there are terms and it can take weeks maybe even longer...
Any advice would be appreciated as I was looking to apply this week 😩
Thanks

You are correct that you can't submit the application until the £680 fee is paid and there is no remission for those on low incomes.
What it says is
'You shouldn't use your own credit card to pay for your bankruptcy. If you can't pay the full fee yourself, you can also ask others to make online payments on your behalf.'
I have known people to use their own cards and did not get any problem.
Do you have someone else who could pay the fee on your behalf?0 -
Most people stop making the debt payments to save the money to pay the fee.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0

I'd recommend speaking to your parents about the rent you pay them. Much like everyone did on the other thread.0

It is a problem where paying by card is not an option and there is no surplus money even after debt payments are stopped. In those cases you have to look to charity and only a few will qualify for help

Nice to see you have taken the advice in the other thread. I don’t think you quite grasp the seriousness of being declared bankrupt.
You will likely lose your car, you will likely not be able to pay your parents at the current rate you are, both things that you have been advised to take a look at reducing. Understand the car is on finance so not as easy but I know my parents would be devastated if I were to go bankrupt when they could of temporarily helped me out by lowering/stopping payments for a while.
I feel we will see you back here regretting your decision when you are no better off.
Please, please take the advice you have been given. Bankruptcy should be the last resort.0 -
I read the other post, this poster has taken nothing on board and there were some very good answers and help from other posters.
I know nothing about the process but would not go bankrupt for the small amount of debt they have.
The poster from the get go was determined to go bankrupt, more bothered about keeping the car and paying parents "a lot of rent" than taking on board what bankruptcy actually means, very silly.
What a waste of 2 threads in my opinion.0
