Talking of Club Lloyds - I have a joint account but want to open a club savings account EACH. The T&Cs state that you can have one in your sole name but does that mean one each??
Has anyone on here got a sole savings each coming from their joint pls?0 -
Sometimes it 'frightens' me how much I am saving each month ! Where does the money come from (I don't earn that much......). It just rolls out of 1/2/3 (2 odf these) at 1.5% and into 2-6% monthly. Still little when you look at it at the end of each Saver, but good fun !
me toobut  to us who manage to juggle maturing ones to feed the next couple of months of payments :j good fun it is :j

Club Lloyds is the Reg Saver I had mature a few days ago and I wondered whether to renew but have held off in case rates go up after November Bit naughty of them to reduce it from 3% to 2.5% in case they end up putting the rate up in November because it will prob only be 2.75% anyway ( if that is what they have done )
Looking at Saffron 3.5 % ( have had an ordinary savings acc with them.for 6mths which is one of the requirements )0 -

This thread is devoted to postings about the best regular/monthly savings accounts, so I'll assume you're asking about the ClubLloyds Monthly Saver. If you already have a joint ClubLloyds current account, then both of you can each open a ClubLloyds Monthly Saver in your sole names. If you open a ClubLloyds Monthly Saver in joint names, you're limited to just one account between the two of you.0 -
Matures at the end of the month and are offering a 1.75% rate up to 31/1/19.
Edit:
For clarity the matured product needs no further deposits but you can deposits of upto 250 per month if you wish.
You can also (and only) withdraw the maturing interest when you give NBS the maturing instructions.0 -
Just a heads up of a recent experience with the HSBC regular saver - nothing to get too worked up about, but just something to be aware of.
At maturity, HSBC look to transfer it to one of their Flexible Savers or Instant Access accounts. If you don't have one then it can take up to 5 days to set one up, and the terms are clear on this.
However, if you do have one already then they transfer the funds on the *close of play* of the day of the anniversary, meaning that the funds often appear on the day after.
As an example, say I opened the account on the 10th Jan, then the last day of the product would be the following 9th of Jan, the transfer would go through on the *close of play* of the 10th, and the funds would become visible on the 11th (transaction dated the 10th).
I have raised a complaint against the wording of the Terms and Conditions and the letters sent to customers as I'm not sure this is clear.
This works differently to most I've experienced so it's just a heads up as I didn't want anyone else to get concerned as I was when the funds don't show on the anniversary date.0 -
I had an HSBC reg saver which matured yesterday with funds not available today.
However, I was aware of that as I had received a letter from them a couple of weeks ago explaining in detail the process and timescales.
I also had in place the flexible saver from previous maturities.0 -

I think I received the same letter. Mine said “On the anniversary of your Regular Saver, being exactly 365 days from the date your opened your account, your balance, plus interest, …. will be transferred into that account” and so on that date I expected to log in and see the funds in that account, just like with many other regular savers.
Just advising others that HSBC do the transfer at the close of play, so you wont actually see the funds until the following day.0
