Regular Savings Accounts: The Best Currently Available List!

I hate these interest rates on regular saving accounts going down. I have a 6% interest regular saver with First Direct.0

Thanks Hattie625 and adindas for correcting me. You are completely correct, it is "fixed term" not fixed interest rate. That is a pretty bad set of terms and conditions - they can drop the interest rate and you cannot withdraw your money until the account matures! I have deleted it from the list on page 1 as it does not meet the criteria for inclusion. Thanks for pointing this out.

When I opened my Leeds RS Issue 4 in my local branch last week, the cashier told me there is no problem at all setting up my STO for the 1st of each month.0

Thanks all for great feedback on the Holmesdale RS. I can now see that it has real shortcomings as a RS product. However I'm content to have applied since, as this building society's only branch is close to my home, I'm willing to cut them a little slack to start with.0

AFAIK Vast of majority of RSAs product allow the people to change the SO dates and only a handful do not allow mostly from HSBC affiliated products e.g. HSBC, FD and M&S.
I also prefer the SO date to be the 1st of each month as:

- It is easy to keep on eye on the balance of the Bank A/C where the SOs are taken.0 -

To clarify this (with respect!), Santander RS is geared to the date in the month the account is opened and this can't be changed.0 -

Thanks for all the effort you put in to this thread.Special_Saver2 wrote: »Yorkshire BS Monthly Regular Saver
Interest rate: 2% gross p.a. variable (dropping to 1.75% from 2nd September 2016)
It might be worth updating this now as the date has passed?

HSBC Regular Saver payment date can be changed. I have done it and HSBC confirmed that account is still a RS.0

The interest rate has decreased from 2.5% to 2.25%.
I noticed this on their website.0
