    Hi Everybody,

Many thanks to Rich2808 and then ctdctd for pointing out the Nationwide Flexclusive 5% Regular Saver account on this thread. I have added this account to post 5.

I am a Nationwide FlexAccount customer but Nationwide did not let me know about this account, at least not yet. I have subscribed to this Regular Savings thread (I chose the option to get a daily e-mail with all the posts on this thread for the last day) and when I saw ctdctd's post, I quickly went online and successfully applied for the account in case it got withdrawn quickly, given how good it is. The account is also now showing up on some of the usual comparison sites that I look at to do my weekly update.

There is nothing else that I can find that has changed for this weekend's update.

It would be great if people could avoid posting about items that are completely off topic, such as post 3570. You can start a new thread of your own for items like this. It would be best for posts on this thread to be about regular savings accounts!

I will do another update next weekend.

    SS2

Hi SS2... Also bear in mind that the old 2% NW regular saver will no longer have an unlimited timespan, so I guess it will have to be moved into the 12 month bucket?

I've now ended up with two of the new Nationwide 5% accounts!

Opened one online (not whilst logged into online banking) but received no confirmation. That account got a sort code and account number. Then proceeded to log into online banking and opened one there. This one got a 0580/xxxxxxxx roll number. Both took a few days to show up online.

Tempted to put £500 per month into each...

I wonder whether Nationwide will replace the allocated 4 digit/9 digit account number with a sort code and regular length account number. Problems encountered filling in the fields in their R85 form online for example, and probably similar for transfers from an external account.

Just use the details in the 3rd section (Savings account with a bond/passbook, and/or an ISA) here...

My understanding is that only accounts without a card get the roll number (4 digit/9 digit).

Probably correct but I would check first. That page refers to Regular SavINGS accounts (the name of the old accounts). The accounts just launched are Regular SavER accounts which have different Ts&Cs.

Already confirmed it works on the specific account thread lower down the board (post #124 from memory), but I agree - and especially since you can make multiple payments per month - that a nominal payment (or a phone call to Nationwide) first would be advisable.

I wouldn't worry about an R85. This account pays annual interest. All savings accounts will pay gross interest starting April 2016. So we will all get 5% paid gross on this account. If your interest exceeds £1000 a year, you will be responsible for paying any tax due on the excess at the appropriate rate.

Additionally, Nationwide's online R85 supports their account number format: https://portal.nationet.com/nationwide/appforms/R85/default.aspx

Their paper version (http://www.nationwide.co.uk/~/media/MainSite/documents/shared/r85-2016.pdf) also has enough spaces to fit the full number.
