I am thinking of a buying the above from Argos at £24.99. I want to covert my Panasonic into a smart tv. It has two hmdi. I watched a lot on netflix and you tube and currently have to put computer on and link it by hmdi to big screen. With a roku will I be able to watch Netflix without switching computer on wirelessly? The router is downstairs and am planning to watch tv in bedroom. Before buying one I want to make it will work with this set up. Thanks

As long as your router has WiFi then a Roku unit should work fine. An alternative to consider would be a Fire TV Stick.0

I currently use one of those to access online stuff, including Netflix, youtube etc, on my tv.
So to answer your question, yes it will.
My tv is supposed to be smart but the roku seems far 'smarter'0 -
Does it need to be plugged in? Thanks0

It needs power - yes. (It can't get power via the HDMI port). If your TV has a USB port then that should be enough to power the stick, otherwise the stick will need to be plugged into the power adaptor.0

That's the 2017 model, Argos sell the 2017 (739/2924) and 2019 (326/9116) models.
Having Amazon Video recently stopping live sport access on 2014 and earlier models I would go for the 2019 model for the extra £5 just in case Amazon or any other provider else does something similar in the future. I realise Amazon Sport may not be required by the OP but it's a suggestion just in case to future proof for longer.0 -

Please be aware that the Roku Express HD currently being sold by Argos, Currys etc for £24.99 requires a 5 Volt @ 1 Amp supply and I doubt if your non-smart Panasonic will actually supply this, so check the spec yourself or provide the model number here before buying?
Roku spec here https://www.roku.com/en-gb/products/roku-express
Although the NowTV Sticks/boxes are based on Roku hardware, the NowTV sticks available for £14.99 or less do come with a mains adapter as well as the USB cable, so they will work with any TV with a HDMI port and may do all that you require e.g. Netflix plus more.0 -

No need.
Roku normally name their devices so you can differentiate them, but for reasons know only to them these two (linked above at Asda and Argos) are named the same.
Your link is for the 4K version so maybe more future proof?0 -
Asda ones instore are SKU#3930eu Sept 2019 models for £200
