Price Confusion

So how is a coop supposed to discount the discount of a Tui package...?0
-
Always, always book online. You will always know that you're getting the best price. I've never once managed to get a Tui agency to beat the online price - there are virtually always exclusive deals online (£100 off codes etc).
Also contrary to the poster above I've monitored hundreds of holidays on Tui and FC websites and never once seen a difference in the pricing between the two.0 -
There is no certainty that a TUI holiday will be cheaper at a TUI travel agent than at Co-op, or an independant. It simply depends on how keen each place is to get your custom.
A family member of mine always uses a local independant as they will always try to beat the price of the tour operator's own outlets.
The Tui shops quote initially will be the same price as any other travel agent but are dearer than their own website. Its the next stage thats important. If you ask Tui shops they will match their website but i don't know nowadays if they charge a fee or not, they used to.
Independent travel agents, some can match the Tui website and do have some discount codes too, it does depend which one you go to.
If you can get an internet price match or just a small charge book in a shop, keep the high street going and its much easier if you have a problem.0 -
Just seen the Tui twitter and so many people who book online encountering problems. Just another reason for people to visit the shop.0

I've been booking package holidays, separate flights and accommodation online for at least 15 years (that's as far back as my records go) and I've never had a problem with any booking.
If you don't feel comfortable with t'interweb, then I agree a shop would be your best option.0 -

Their website is down. This may also be affecting stores.0 -
Any TUI shop I've enquired of will match their website prices - I expect it'll be the same across the UK.
If your local shop will price match, then go there if you are uncomfortable online.
If punters are having issues booking on TUI website then it'll likely be down to their input error(s).
If the website is down it may well be due to volume of traffic - this is a peak booking time.0 -

They often match the website price BUT it's at discretion of the store manager. They are franchised and not all will - or some will charge an admin fee for processing the booking for you.
In essence you walk into a store because you want someone to do it for you, expecting that to be free is a bit much.0 -

The TUI shop will make it's commission for actioning the booking.
It would only be free if they removed that % and undercut their online price.
I go into the local shop because I prefer to give them my business, as long as they price match, which they are happy to do.0 -

You the customer are having a booking service for free. The equivalent might be a DIY car wash charges £3 whereas a staffed one charges £5 to wash your car for you....and you rocking up at the staffed one and asking them to wash your car for £3 cos the one down the road charges that for you do do it yourself....
Yes the shops can make their commission but as a customer you are getting the DIY price for someone else to do it for you.0
