Parcelfarce sent me an email at 7:12 saying they were delivering today between 9 and 10. (Why could they not have sent one yesterday notifying me that they would delivering today at some point, as most other couriers seem to manage ?)
At 9 I clicked on tracking to see if there was a progress map, and found that they had attempted delivery at 8:56. The driver must be one of those muppets who think a tap at the door carries through the entire house and ignores the doorbell.
The site said that there would be a card to tell me what to do next - important as they might leave the package at a post office to pick up. No card, of course.
