HI
I am looking for advice on how to approach a NTK and £60 charge.I thought this letter was a scam but i have read can be serious if unchallenged.
They are alledging the the vehicle was stopped on private road outside greggs in Geldard close Leeds.
What happened was the car was parked on the greggs forecourt while the person purchased food.Up on leaving the car had to reverse on this private road and on doing so a toddler in the back dropped there food, vehicle was stopped whilst this happened and then left the premises. The person was not aware of any restrictions on this land seen as they was parked on business premises.
I am going to take some pics of signage and try and find out who they police this road for.
(land owner)
On the letter theres a photo that is cropped to death of the car number plate,no evidence of where it has stopped or if it is occupied. How long it stopped
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Let's have a look at that letter. Blank out personal details and the car's VRM, but leave in all the shown dates.

NEWBIES - HOW TO UPLOAD LINKS TO PHOTOS/SCANS TO MSE

To upload a photo/scan link, you first need to host it on a free photo hosting site (like Dropbox or Imgur), copy the URL, paste it here, but change the http to hxxp and we'll do the conversion. Newbies can't directly upload links to photos/scans until they've a few posts under their belt.

Please do not use TinyPic or PhotoBucket as they drop all sorts of gratuitous and unsolicited dross on computer screens when their links are opened.

    Or, read this advisory post:

How long do they allege you were "parked " for? What is the name of the PPC? Have you spoken to Greggs?.

From what you have told us, if this went to court they would, imo, crash and burn so I would challenge them to do just that.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

hi guys been to the site and the client I was told is Cornelius house, cant find any details for them to get intouch with. There is a pole with a sign on next to greggs which states no stopping. But if a car is reversing off the forecourt you would not see the sign as its about 8 or 9ft in the air.

how would you go about this..try the client if possible or just appeal ,I cant believe you can get a fine for looking after a child before setting off onto a main road

What you definitely do not do is to ring PCS. Never call a PPC or any of their debt collectors. Everything in writing.

Why not just read the NEWBIES thread, which is why we have that sticky thread.
