1 or 2 days in Universal, Orlando, Florida

Hello,
Hoping for some advice.
Travelling to Florida in May 2020, two adults and a 14 year old. We have a fly drive for 10 days and have 2.5 days in Orlando at the end of our trip spending most of our time on the Gulf Coast.
We would like to visit the Universal Studios theme park when we travel back to Orlando and already have accommodation booked at a nearby Motel. Not sure how to book tickets and where to find the best deals as everything seems to be for 14 or 7 days.
I know the park is huge and we cannot see it all in 1 or 2 days but that is the time period we are interested in. Any ideas? We have been told it will be best to book something when in Florida but still not sure where to look.
Many thanks

Start with the official website where you can buy park tickets only for as many days as you need:

You definitely need 2 days. On undercover tourist, you can buy 2 day tickets.
Park hopper would be best and then you can use Hogwarts express to switch parks.
I’d advise 1 day for Universal studios and 1 day for islands of adventure. We go every year so happy to answer any questions!0 -
Have you already paid for the motel? The only reason I ask is because you could book a night in one of their premium hotels which will get you an express pass for the duration of your stay?
You could skip the queues then and would be able to cover all the rides without doubt.0 -
Definitely 2 days! For us it worked out cheaper to get the two week pass, Around £200-£250 per adult.Debt Free as of December 2020 👏
Save 12k in 2025 #6 - £300 / £3000

If you do only day passes I would recommend getting fast track if you can afford it. You don't want to spend most of the day queuing when you're there for so little time.
We had a choice of theme parks - Universal or Disney for the day. We went with Disney Magic Kingdom as it had a wider variety of rides for the non thrill seeker in our group and also we got 3 free fast track passes with the ticket - and then once they were gone you get another 1 to use, then once that's done, another one (and so on). Universal it costs a bit extra.
The US websites are the places to be. Disney also tried to get us to buy weekly passes, so we went onto the US website.0 -
we went last year (2019) & stayed for a couple of nights at Royal Pacific Resort at Universal . We booked through Hotels.com using T's Clubcard vouchers.
There are only three hotels that offer the unlimited express pass as part of the stay
Probably the best ever use of Clubcard points when you factor in the unlimited express pass.
Without the Express passes I doubt you get round the parks unless you go as single riders. To buy in the parks, they are stupid money.
To add you can check in as soon as the parks open & leave your luggage with the concierge & get your express passes, same for when you check outPrivate Parking Tickets - Make sure you put your Subject Access Request in after 25th May 2018 - It's free & ask for everything, don't forget the DVLA0 -
Two days is more than enough. They aren't big parks. Be prepared to use single rider queues to maximise your time.0

Volcano Bay is fab!
You 100% need 2 days for Universal so that’s a wise choice. Enjoy! You will absolutely LOVE it!0
