So I bought a plate a few years ago I think it was £399, and it clearly spells out my wife's name..... Anyway we are getting divorced, selling the car and there are immediately two options:

1) leave it on the car for the new seller and be done with it
2) transfer it onto a certificate in which case it's £80 and the ex can keep it (don't want to use it now, maybe in the future) or we can try and sell it

I don't think there's a lot of demand for the plate as it's a foreign name and not even common there.... So I assume it's worthless, except to my wife?

It's in the format Y4 ABC
