Mobile phone lost Special Delivery

Hi all,
I recently posted my pay monthly mobile phone to a company to have a cracked screen fixed through my insurance, The phone has since not showed up over a week after posting it Special Delivery. When claiming for compensation is this a cash compensation or would they replace the mobile phone like for like and with this being a pay monthly mobile will this make it more difficult for claiming compensation

Thank You

What does the tracking say? Is it lost by Royal Mail or has it been received and lost by the company carrying out the repair?
  • Postage was paid for by myself, contacted royal mail and the item has just been updating daily stating ready for delivery, the advisor who I spoke to said this is very unusual and said she will sending a query to the manager of the delivery office as to what has happened to the delivery

In that case you will need to claim from Royal Mail.

Keep to the deadlines - you need to wait 5 working days from the due date for Special Delivery.

Assuming that has lapsed, complete the claim with evidence of value.

It updates as ready for delivery each day?
Then the item isnt lost if it is being scanned.

    This was my thought.
some companies simply dont let RM know or make a change/last minute choice to close/open.
If its not known then they could be 'allocating' the item each day to see if they are open.
If its being scanned ready for delivery each day, then they physically have the item and its not lost.
