  • Mines not been so much as advice but whats happened - got made redundant and had six months on JSA - opened my eyes right up to prospect of budgeting! Counting up my coppers to buy milk and bread was a good one.

Since gettig a new job and that - really made me want to change things, get rid of debts asap to leave me a bit more secure if im in situation of being out of work - and to save instead of relying on credit!

Im on my way to getting rid of my credit card for good and sorting ot my loan - then its time to look at getting settled in my own place and having car etc. Can afford to start thinking about driving lessons again as im budgeting!

    Its a great feeling!

Have a look at www.whatsthecost.com - put in your debt details and it works out which one you should pay off first, and gives you a debt free date -you can play around with it and bring that date forward with a bit of effort!

my best bit of advice was to keep going. It's very hard when you're debt is so big and mine was small compared to some others.
But now with only 3k to go i feel like i'm racing to the finish line.
