Hi, i was hoping you could help out with some advice. My friend who lives in Buckhaven in Fife and is on low income working 19 hours per week only. When i vister her last month her female cat who is 1 was in heat. She is currently now also in heat. Having had only boy cats (3 off them at one time!) She appears under distress with the noises she is making etc. Ive looked it all and it all seema the typical behaviours. My friend has only very little money but i would love to find a way of helping her out or some way of getting it done cheaper than at the vets. I want to help the poor thing and just loking for some advice on who i can contact to try and figure something out. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Happy New Year!

Some animal charities offer neutering vouchers to cover the whole or most of the cost to those on low income.
Try:

https://www.bluecross.org.uk/find-your-nearest-blue-cross-service
Alternatively contact a few Vet branches near her to see if they know of any local schemes or if they would accept a payment plan.0 -
The Cat's Protection scheme may be limited by area - but there are usually other charities that can help. You usually need to be on at least one type of benefit to qualify - something like tax credits is usually fine. In my area, there has been a CP scheme running for years offering neutering for £5 if you qualify.0

Might want to check out Whinneybank Cat Sanctury as well.
Look under useful information, then select Nutering your kitten or cat.
Seem able to help with reduced costs and even transport assistance.

There is no DIY procedure not with girl cats, you have to go to a vet.0 -
