Fibonacci. I had a maths teacher obsessed with fibonacci but it looks good in socks.
I still haven't got new needles or yarn for my next project but I'm hoping to next week.
Pip the Drift is lovely. I see it in a mustard for myself but equally I see it in a lovely plummy red.1 -
@PollyWollyDoodle - apologies. I just realised I hadn’t replied to you. Sadly, there isn’t any more available. I bought the yarn on clearance, years ago. (It was £1/ball.) When I searched stashes in Ravelry, there were only 2 other people who had listed the colour “Red Bud” in their stash. One said she’d used it all up; the other had 3 balls listed, so I messaged her. She was most apologetic but said she’d used it all up during Lockdown and needed to update Rav. I’ve even tried eBay and Google.
Thanks @Noaidi. I really want to knit the Drift in red, but I may end up making something else or using something else for Drift. The length to the armpit is 17 inches; there is some wriggle room to make it shorter but only by a couple of inches. I’ve done it before with semi-satisfactory results. (Nothing is worse than a too short garment.)

EDIT: scratch this, I see from your stash photos on Rav this is not the same stuff at all, sorry!
@PipneyJane
This only says 'red' and not 'red bud' but is this the stuff? Worth asking them to check the label?

Sadly, it’s not the same yarn. This one is 100% acrylic DK, while the Pallette Vintage is 70% Wool 30% Soy “Silk” worsted weight (aka 10-ply to an Aussie). Thanks for trying to find it, @Laura_Elsewhere. I am in awe of your Google-fu.Laura_Elsewhere said:@PipneyJane

What a lot of thread since I was last here! Did anyone see us linked on the Facebook page?
I have purchased 3 bras - so 1.5 corsets and 4.5 points. Adding this to the 7 points I spent on yarn in June that is 11.5 points gone YTD. Found two lovely patterns in a charity shop that fit perfectly with some of my yarn stash so should be OK for knitting fuel for a bit.
I got a lovely set of interchangeable DPNs for my birthday - the Lykke brand. Actually the needles are a bit too short for my biggish hands but I think I'll get used to them in time. I don't knit much in the round but am hoping to do a bit more.
Laura - interested in your posture diagram and comments. I developed some nasty back problems from having a posterior pelvic tilt (significantly exacerbated during and post pregnancy) and have been doing some intensive physio and pilates to try and help. I have noticed my clothes fitting better recently, despite putting on weight, as my posture improves.6 -
Don’t apologise, @Laura_Elsewhere. I appreciate your efforts with Google. From further digging, it looks like Palette Collection only do/did fairly small product runs. There are virtually no solids in the Vintage range and it doesn’t look like they made it for long.Laura_Elsewhere said:EDIT: scratch this, I see from your stash photos on Rav this is not the same stuff at all, sorry!
I have had quite a think about this. There is a short-sleeved jumper in my queue, Quick Work in Thick Wool, which I could make with the cream coloured yarn. It’ll give me a feel for how far a ball really goes. It’ll also let me see how the Palette really behaves. (Yes, I wash my swatches before checking my gauge, but they don’t always show up the flaws/drape/pros-and-cons knitting a full garment does.)
Were we? Well done Ladies! I don’t read the Facebook page, so would never have found it. Please link, if you can.catherinekate said:What a lot of thread since I was last here! Did anyone see us linked on the Facebook page?
Welcome back @catherinekate. Pull up a (socially distant) chair, grab a cuppa and tell us how life is for you in the fourth month following Lockdown. I’ll fetch the cake. It’s Gingerbread flavoured but closer to a parkin. It’s a bit sticky so, if you plan to knit, you might want to wash your hands afterwards.

Here's the link, hope it works: https://www.facebook.com/MoneySavingExpert/posts/3004603786260755
Things are feeling pretty normal here: toddler back at nursery and I'm back in the office, we didn't have much of a social life anyway! (see toddler reference!) I've even had a scout around my favourite charity shop, fully masked up, although mysteriously the clothes prices seem to have increased since March so came away with only bric a brac.4 -
Just dropping by for a catch up. I haven't spent any coupons, but I did find a wrap skirt in the wardrobe from last summer. I'd forgotten I had it and it'll save me buying something for a short break coming up. Also mended a top that's going to CS, and retired some socks. Must say this Gingerbread cake is very tasty

Just remembered a small mend I am part way through. I need a replacement shoulder strap for my handbag and I've managed to save the brasswear - the hooks. It's easier than I first thought - I've just threaded the new strap through and just need one rivet on the far end to stop the hook falling off. If I get the rivet done at Timpsons - how many coupons?

No coupons for the rivet. It’s just like there are no coupons for shoe repairs.tgroom57 said:Just remembered a small mend I am part way through.
