@maddiemay I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling low.  I think a lot of us will experience mood-swings-and-roundabout days over the coming weeks.

@PollyWollyDoodle How does the online choir rehearsal work?  Please tell all.

Good morning, hard frost last night, but very sunny - lovely.  I have shaken off the temporary feelings of yesterday, just was a little overwhelmed for a while.   Today I hope to play in the garden again, I would like and need to do some baking, both GF and muggle, but will manage without for  few days until the forecast cold spell arrives.  OH will walk the dog mornings and me later, fortunately very quiet where I live so I do not expect distancing to be a problem.    I must mend something or do a little knitting today (there are 2 pairs of hand warmers needing sewing up somewhere) and my exercises too, certainly should not feel bored!
Take care and stay safe everyone.

We used Zoom, Pip, it’s a free app although I think you have to register. We are doing sectional rehearsals, e.g. Soprano one only, so only eight or nine of us at a time. The problem is that, as with most of these video apps, there is a slight delay – doesn’t help with timing! Also, when one of you are speaking (or singing) you can’t hear the others. What we’ve now decided is that our choir director who sets up the meeting will mute all of us, so we can hear her but we can’t hear each other.  She can unmute us if she wants to hear anyone singing. It’s really not ideal, but it does mean we look at the music and listen to the notes as she plays them on the piano, and it did give us a lot of laughs last week. We are a very friendly and sociable choir and we are used to meeting up every week, so it was really good to see each other.

A little note, I’m sure lots of people have discovered this recently; if you are using a phone for video calls, hold it high up. If you hold it underneath your chin it is VERY unflattering! 😂.
Too true, re video calls and the angle of the camera.  Another point to pay attention to is what is behind you.  We are video-conferencing a daily team call and one of my colleagues is using a desk in his bedroom.  I keep wanting to tell him to straighten the pillows on his bed!

Thanks for the info regarding Zoom.  My choir had to cancel last weekend’s concert and we’re all suffering from choir-withdrawal-symptoms.  I might suggest it to the chairman.

    (EDIT: she's back home again!)

Woke today to the news that niece has deteriorated and is now en route to hospital - she's got everything in her favour, she's young, otherwise healthy, fit and active... it may only be a precaution because she lives in a rural area and they'd rather bring her in for obs.
    Fingers crossed.

Thankyou all for the kind thoughts, and basketcase, I may not believe myself, but I've no evidence so will ALWAYS happily accept bothering of sky pilot on others' behalf!

I have no details but she's already on her way back home again. All I know is that her fever became far worse and her throat extremely painful and she found it very difficult to breathe so rang the helpline and they got a doctor to call her back and the doctor promptly dispatched an ambulance... so presumably they've eased the pain/difficulty in some way, and prefer her to be at home if not in immediate medical danger?

Whatever, I hope never to have an awakening like that again, and am hugely glad she's (relatively) okay! That was a nasty few hours...
