I'd be up for a daily check-in; I've got OH home for another week yet, and he may have to work from home when he does go back, but he's a "key worker" so at least we'll have some money coming in still. The reason I mention him is that it's impossible to get anything done whilst he's at home! (He is somewhat on the high-maintenance side...) I need to take my business back online, as all my markets & events have been cancelled, and I really don't know when I'll be able to get back to my sewing machine, spinning wheel, loom & crochet hooks! This would be such a good opportunity to stash-bash & make some much-needed stuff otherwise... Perhaps I should "timetable" & make sure there's some time to create for myself, though getting my wares back online should enable others to do that too...

I’d be up for a daily check-in. I’m still going to work but may be able to do some from home as well.I have loads of craft things to do and plenty of spare time in the evenings now all my activities have been cancelled, but feel numb and tearful and can’t seem to get going.Stash busting challenge 2025: 0/100 £0/£100 Fashion on the ration 2025: 0/664

Good morning all, I am up for a daily check in too please. I have not started on any of the making/finishing/mending things lying around the house, but am as stocked up as I can be for the 12 week period. ATM OH is still going out for a daily paper, I don't think reading on line will be an option for him, but he is going to out of town co-op at 7am and taking all precautions he can.
Yesterday I managed a little gardening and will do more today, very cold, but I have lots of warm clothes and the neighbours are used to seeing me dressed up like an Eskimo! My old and slightly tatty wool or cashmere jumpers will be well layered.
Stay safe everyone and a big thank you to those still working to keep everything running for us. xThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)3 -

My plan for today is to tackle some long overdue housework, attempt a shop - we are almost out of fresh veg - murder the weeds in the front garden and then to hunker down and finish the body of my sweater/start a sleeve. The last time I knitted this pattern, I picked up the sleeve stitches from the armhole and knitted them top-down. I hope I can decipher my notes on Ravelry.
Have a good day, Ladies.

Heard from my son - the agency have confirmed that he has another week's work at least. Fingers crossed that it will continue, though I guess its going to be pretty hand to mouth existence for him at the moment.Husband says that he is going to self isolate with a cup of coffee in his workshop. Any excuse! I'm going to tackle the backlog of gardening jobs this morning, while the sun is actually shining.Keep well, everyone.Sealed Pot Challenge no 035.

Went to the shops earlier. It really does feel as if War has been declared. I am most worried about the Osterley Park Farm Shop. They were almost sold out this morning. Only red onions and a handful of cabbages left. The shop is manned during the week by the farmer’s elderly parents, so they’re thinking of shutting up, possibly for good. We have been customers for 20 years. It will be sad to see them go.
Hope all stays well with you.

Thankfully my parents are taking the risk to them seriously, being 79 and 81 - both had notifiable infectious diseases as children, both had younger siblings who ditto, and I did as well, so they are familiar with quarantine and self-isolation from the days of diseases that could - and did - rampage through a neighbourhood leaving a trail of black crepe armbands and lost or orphaned friends.
It looks likely my mid-20s younger niece and her boyfriend now have the virus, SE Scotland. they are staying in, and self-isolating, but thank heavens Niece drew a line some 11 days ago and said she was not having any more contact with her grandparents until OTHABO (Once This Has All Blown Over)... so they are safe, as is her sister with underlying health issues...

I went to visit a friend today, neither of us could decide if I should stay away or go. None of us is in a vulnerable category. She has two young children and her partner is a key worker and doing very long hours, they also have no car at the moment so she is finding it very difficult to do any shopping. I was able to take some food for her, and we spent most of the day in the garden. I’m not sure if I will be able to go over again.
It took my mind off things, as I have been struggling a bit since yesterday’s briefing. I have a very empty week stretching ahead, I’m going to try and go for a walk every day with friends, clean the house up and get my sewing machine out.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. A daily check in is a good idea. I'm not at risk nor are my children or DH and DH is a keyworker so we are all good here. I nipped into town yesterday afternoon and still there are boat loads of elderly people trailing about, I get why they are but if the whole point of this is to stop them overwhelming the nhs shouldn't they be making more of an effort too?

Another very cold, but beautifully sunny day here. The number of Covid-19 cases in counties around us are still low, but starting to rise, 3 so far in our predominately rural county. Lots of time spent in garden yesterday, can't do much at a time, but it does my soul good to be out, more of the same today while OH goes for a solitary bike ride (40 miles and 31 miles so far this week). The Blackbirds are busy searching the freshly dug areas for fresh juicy worms, pleased to see that there are an awful lot of them still after our soggy weather. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.
