I had lots of ties from my late father-in-law and i was wondering what to do with them. I have made some zipped pouches and hair scrunchies.

I just looked on P1nterest, and saw some rather interesting ideas for "up cycled neckties" but I suspect you've looked there already! However I have a pile of vintage silk ties that have failed to sell, so I think I might have a go at some of those myself!Angie - GC Aug25: £207.73/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)7

Thanks, PipneyJane. I think a cushion cover is a possibility. I have about 30, mainly reds and blues. They have a small pattern like the scrunchies posted by Keepcalmandcraft.

Thanks, Skogar. I think a small bag or shoulder bag is a good idea, maybe with a matching scarf or belt to brighten up my black and grey coats.

Thanks,Laura. I haven't enough for a skirt and though it's a great idea i think I'm too old for such a jazzy item. And I don't go anywhere that I could wear it to. When I was a student i often made unusual dresses from curtain material or two dresses cobbled together. Actually, I've just thought that a band of contrasting tie patchwork could look stunning in a black skirt.

Pollywollydoodle , thanks. Patchwork of some kind is the way to go, depending on the shades and patterns i have.I got all these ties in a CS, four for a euro, and had a rummage. As soon as I picked up one and saw a label D**r, I checked them all and thought I might make a profit some time some place. Perhaps even a present for DS. Then I got them home and found a few that needed a stitch or five and so selling was replaced by crafting. At the moment I favour craft.

Thanks Keepcalmandcraft. I love the scrunchies and the red ones are similar to lots of mine. As you might have read my posts above i am undecided about what to make, but think some kind of patchwork is likely to be involved.
I posted separate replies after this machine lost internet connection this morning and lost my post!
I'm thinking of trying a stylish shopping bag, not too big but handy for when I go to a big town and there are lots of stylish French ladies about and plastic would look terrible.I don't buy masses when I'm out for the day but usually need a bag of some sort. Of course, lockdown here is very strict and strongly enforced so it will be some time before I'm going anywhere.

Thanks, Thriftwizard, I will have a look. If you have read my posts above, you will know I had thought of selling them, but your experience seems to mean craft is the way to go.
Keep safe and thanks.6
