So many of these companies pop up, fleece people and disappear again.0 -

Open a dispute for INR (item not received) with Paypal, you have 180 days from purchase date to open it.
Watch the deadlines that Paypal give you very closely and as soon as you are able to escalate the dispute do it.
Do not close the dispute, even if you are promised a refund as you will not be able to reopen it.
You will get your money back.0 -

The address seems to be fake too, they claim to be at 399 Silverdale Road, however that road appears to only go up to 201!
Funny but google maps show 399 Silverdale DRIVE as a private house with a nice big conservatory.
Its a rip off of a American site....
Got to love some of the returns policy... Clearly copied and pasted from other sites....Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Perishable goods such as food, flowers, newspapers or magazines cannot be returned. We also do not accept products that are intimate or sanitary goods, hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases.
Additional non-returnable items:
Gift cards
Downloadable software products
Some health and personal care items
To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.
Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer. There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable)
Book with obvious signs of use
CD, DVD, VHS tape, software, video game, cassette tape, or vinyl record that has been opened
Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.
If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at Support@byshirts.us
If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.Life in the slow lane0 -

But you said ROAD in your 1st post.... Retailer website states DRIVE.
Changing number on 399 silverdale drive, Waterlooville, PO76DX
to 300 moves it to a totally different house.Life in the slow lane0 -

I still maintain there is no house above 201 on Silverdale Drive, my google search just shows the same house displayed if any number above 201 (including 399) is entered.
201 is the last displayed house at the end of Silverdale Drive (you can see 201 etched into the frosted glass). Next to it is an electric substation. There appears to be a standalone garage the other side. Beyond that is a section of fencing that runs to the end of the road.

Thanks for the replies so far everyone. Yes, it's all clearly designed to mislead and yes unfortunately I fell for it. I have already opened a Paypal dispute so we'll see if that goes anywhere. That said however my question is more in a general sense in that whether there's any legal way to challenge these companies? My casual observation is they're becoming more prevalent (Amazon is rife with them) and more effective at disguising themselves. Clearly I don't *expect* Trading Standards to do anything (it was just a suggestion), but I do wonder whether if there are any moves by any sort of Authority to hold these traders to account?I imagine bugs and girls have a dim suspicion that nature played a cruel trick on them, but they lack the intelligence to really comprehend the magnitude of it. -- Calvin & Hobbes :rotfl:0

Simple check on Amazon marketplace is the length of time it takes to deliver. Also click on the sellers name and it takes you to a page which has their address.
If they show a UK address and have a long delivery, then odds on they are a drop shipper.
Sadly no one has control to stop these co's.
You just have to make sure you look 1st. Always check T/C, returns policy etc. These are usually giveaways as they often do not make sense. Or like the site you used. Cover items they do not sell...Life in the slow lane0
