Doesn't matter, since they were stopped and given the NIP at the roadside - their details would have been checked and taken at the time.
I did wonder about that but would it still apply if the OP didn't have their driving licence or other proof of ID at the time they were stopped?0 -

So, just like all the other people who accidentally or deliberately break the speed limit from time to time. The only difference is that there's usually no speed camera there to spot it.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -

I have held a clean license for over 25 years. Yeah i admit to this one but it was a genuine mistake i thought the limit changed further back. Guilty as charged. Or not charged in my case0

Whether you thought the speed limit was 30 or 40, 42 is greater than both so that's a poor excuse for the crime.0
