Thank you for all your lovely messages.
EH - you have put that into words so well.
SH - you are right about the dipping funds.  I have actually managed to cover it from the slush fund since we've not been anywhere.  I've got about £25 left in it so will probably use that to see us to payday (28th) if necessary.  We're still doing ok on the Asd@ shop though.

I felt a bit rubbish for a few days but I'm definitely on the mend now.  It was mainly cold symptoms but there was a definite bit of virus in there.  I have had worse colds and viruses before though so, yes, I'm counting my blessings.

Today is day 11 so we should be out partying (joking) but we can't because yesterday, day 10, LMG tested positive 😩  She has been in with me since 16th so it's unlikely she caught it anywhere else.  I can go out now as I'm triple jabbed but I don't want to risk carrying it and giving it to someone else.  We're just going to get on with it.  I can work from home as usual (been off this week to rest, back next week) so I'll only go out if we need groceries and it will be hand wash before I go, mask on, hand sanitiser, all the things I've been doing anyway.  LMG was looking forward to going back to work today.  It's a bit gutting.  I feel terrible for giving it to her too.  One good thing, we have hugged which we haven't done in over a week.  It's strange living in the same house and having to keep a distance.  It must have been in the air as I constantly clean all the touch points.

I'll catch up with diaries as soon as I can.  Today was supposed to be my day to myself with LMG back to work and me feeling a good bit better.  It's not quite going according to plan.

  • Oh GAP - what a shame, poor LMG! Hopefully she remains symptom free! I'm pretty sure that you're fine to go out without concern as needed though as with having just been infected yourself there's no realistic chance according to the data that you can get reinfected - even as a "carrier" at this stage?

Good for you taking time off and resting properly as well - I suspect there would be a lot less people having suffered significant effects from it if more had done the same!

She had a worse cold than I did.  She has really suffered this last week or so.  She tested every day and was negative every day.  Yesterday was positive.  I'm hoping that she won't get any worse as she is on the mend from that now.  I feel
a bit guilty that I've given her it so part of me staying in is in solidarity so that she's not on her own and I'm out galavanting.  I'll go for groceries when we need them but I'm staying away from family, friends and bf as if they caught it, even if not from me, I'd feel like it was my fault.  I can't help feeling like that.

I took the time off as I knew I would work too many hours and I was worried I might make myself worse.  I'm bad for keeping working when I'm ill.  I need to be careful with my health anyway and I wasn't exactly sure what I was dealing with.  I planned to go back today but my line manager told me to take the rest of the week.  Not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

I'm glad that you are looking after yourself. I know when my DD had covid I was really scared - despite not ending up getting it myself. My DS who doesn't live with me now has it.... It's really doing the rounds... Hope you have a covid free house soon. Great news that you boss said to take the rest of the week off too.

  • I’m so relieved to hear from you - glad you’re on the mend.

And this is what we are supposed to do now, just get on with our lives alongside Covid, as strange as that feels

  • Sorry GAP - didn't mean to cause offence. the way I read your previous post was that you were concerned about actually still infecting other folk because of there still being a case in the house, so hoped to provide some reassurance that this was highly unlikely to be the case.
