The grocery budget has gone out the window this month. I have managed to test positive for covid 😢 The only covid symptom I have is a small temperature, the rest of my symptoms are cold symptoms. LMG is negative although she has a worse cold-y/flu-y thing than me. I have been in contact with 9 people in the last two weeks, all family (including LMG and bf) and they are all testing negative (and continuing to do so). I'm not sure where I picked it up. I've been in three shops and on four public buses in the same two weeks. My hands bleed because I wash them so much. I wear a mask. I follow the rules and guidance, I do all the right things. My sis says I need to stop trying to figure it out as I'll probably never know. I'm just glad no one else has got it so far and I hope it stays like that.
We did an online shop today to be delivered tomorrow which took us over the budget (which suggests we were already heading towards going over) but that will do us for a bit.
I haven't been on here much so there will be a lot to catch up on when I'm feeling a bit better. I tried in the past couple of days but I couldn't really focus properly. I'll be back though.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

I hope you get better quickly. You are not going to know where you got it. Even if others in your group test positive there is no guarantee it came via you.
Be kind to yourself. Rest and reset. You have the £ for groceries in your dipping pot if needed. It's a time for rests so stop beating yourself up.

Oh GAP, I’m sorry to hear that. Nothing you’ve done has caused this, it’s just super infectious. So many people I know who are careful and follow the rules are testing positive right now.I hope it passes quickly, rest up as much as possible and look after yourself xxDebt at LBM (Dec 2018): £23,167

Thank you all. I'm just so miserable. I do think I'm lucky that's it's mainly cold/mild flu symptoms, I've been so much worse before. I'll fight back, I always do.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

Much as trying to think “it could be worse” is often touted as a positive way to approach things, I think it’s being far more widely acknowledged now that it can often be rather more toxic positivity than it’s intended to be. I’d bundle it up with “count your blessings” and “there’s always someone worse off than you!” and show it the door, personally. Absolutely understandable that in spite of doing everything YOU could to protect yourself and your household and others outside it, you’re flipping miserable that you’ve ended up with it. The problem is, you’ve been around someone who DIDN’T care enough about others to do all the things - and as so often is the case, you’re bearing the brunt of someone else’s actions - or inactions. Nothing you can do about that allowing that completely avoiding all social interactions is impractical.
Take care of yourself, acknowledge it’s fine to be sad/cross/absolutely blooming RAGING about it, and get better soon. (As as others have said - the funds are there to cover what’s needed - that’s why you have those accessible funds, so all good there and well done past you for making sure present you is in such a manageable situation. )🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
