Cruise marriage

Hi
We are a couple in our late 50's and are engaged to be married. As yet we haven't set a date but are wanting to go on honeymoon cruising the Far East Dec/Jan 2021.
We were planning a marriage here in UK then going on honeymoon, however, the amount of biccerring amongst family members has led us to the decision to combine the Honeymoon cruise and get married on the ship, then come home tell everyone we got married then host an evening celebration for people to attend.
Has anyone on here had a cruise wedding and with which cruise company did they use and how was the experience?
Thanks in anticipation.

There are many issues to consider when getting married on a cruise ship, one being the actual legality of the ceremony.
For starters take a look at this article from the Cruisecritic website which explains what is involved.

We are in our 60's and considered a cruise wedding but changed our minds when seeing one take place. I think it was the sight of the couple and their guests being dressed up on a hot day while others on the ship were in shorts and t shirts.
We also thought of going to Las Vegas to get married without telling anyone but eventually settled for a Registry Office wedding, inviting around 30 close friends and then blowing most of the cost on a honeymoon.
It's your day so do what suits you and enjoy yourselves.0
