Is it a DVD or a Video?

Hi
I am starting to declutter and have found a brand new/sealed item which I am going to put on Ebay. It's a comedy DVD or video but I don't know which. The box is the right thickness to hold a video tape but has a DVD Video symbol on the box with a picture of a disc between the two words.

The running time is 299 minutes so if it is a DVD does that mean there's 2 discs. I can't see anything on it to say it has 2 discs included.

Your help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I'm going to guess that as it has the DVD logo on it, then it's almost certainly a DVD. But as above, search the barcode number and that would probably confirm it. Unless it's something really unusual and collectable, unsealing it probably won't make much difference to what you get for it - and some buyers might want to see what's inside it anyway.

299 minutes is about five hours, I'd say that's almost certainly two discs.
  • If you are bothered about correctly advertising it........
    ....then they are both videos!!

Video really refers to the content: one being (probably) a video cassette (VHS format?) of videotape Or a Digital Versatile Disc which is a type of optical disc that can contain digital video or other data.

Is there not a compatibility note on the box? But as already posted long running time dvd likely especially if tbe box is lightweight, tape is heavier.

^ Yes, that's a point - at 299 minutes, that wouldn't go onto a single VHS tape unless it's recorded in LP mode, and I don't think commercially-sold tapes were. So if the box isn't big enough for two VHS tapes, it must be DVD.
