Changing email on this forum

I have a problem where I have forgotten my password for this forum and my registered email is old and no longer accessible.
On my Android tablet i am constantly logged in so I thought if I go into settings on here and change my old email to present one I would be able to request a new password but, no!
I changed email address in settings and saved but when I check it has reverted to old email address again.
I have a feeling it is because I haven't entered my "forgotten" password. If I click on forgotten password, they will send notification to old email which is not in use anymore.
Can someone suggest a way round this?

Depending on the browser used on the tablet you may be able to show a list of saved passwords which may hold the password to which you are seeking.0
