Ted Baker Refund 'not as described item' Rights?

On 26/11 I purchased a phone case online as a Christmas present. It was advertised online as an iPhone 6, 6s, 7, 8 (it's no longer showing on their website). When it arrived the following week (w/c 2/12) I opened the parcel and at the bottom of the packaging it says "iPhone 6, 6s, 7, 8 plus".
When opened on Christmas Day it was too big for the 6s it was intended for - it will only fit an 8 plus and not the other sizes. Having looked back at my email it does say iPhone 8 plus on the email, but unfortunately I didn't look at that as I knew I'd ordered the correct case.
I contacted Ted Baker yesterday and was told I was only elibgible to a gift card refund or exchange and not a refund to my payment card. I was asked to send them photos as proof which I did.
Their response today is the same - an exchange (which they can't fulfill as they no longer have the size I need) or a gift card refund.
Do I have any rights to demand a refund to my payment card as they have made the error and the item is packaged incorrectly?
Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Have you told them it isn't a change of mind return?
Do you have the original email of the order showing it as xyz?0 -
I think you've misread what the packaging says/means it doesn't mean it would fit the standard 6, 6s, 7 and only the 8 plus. It means it would fit them all in the plus so of course it would be too big for a standard 6s so the packaging is correct in that it will fit all of the plus models, the ted baker cases have a large camera cut out to allow for the different models but all of the buttons are in the same place on all of those phones.
The problem you will have after this length of time and with the item no longer available is proving whether the website description was wrong or whether you read it wrong and it was correctly advertised.0 -
Thanks for your replies. What I'm kicking myself over is I had a screenshot of the phone case on their website for a long time and kept going back to it before ordering it when they had an offer on.
If I still had this picture I could prove it didn't say plus as I had checked it, my daughter had checked it (and she has mega OCD) and my colleague had checked it too :-(0 -
