The winner of this excellent prize will enjoy a three-course dinner before settling down for a night’s sleep in a double or twin bedroom at Bagden Hall, the Victorian country house hotel near Denby Dale which was originally built by Charles Norton, a wealthy mill owner who made his fortune running Nortonthorpe’s weaving mills. The following morning the winner can enjoy a full English breakfast or Continental version and then a stroll around the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, an open-air gallery in West Bretton near Wakefield showing work by British and international artists, including Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth. The park’s collection of works by Moore is one of the largest open-air displays of his bronzes in Europe.
