Help required for Adelphi car park fine

In October we used the Adelphi Hotel car park Liverpool. We purchased a 3 hour ticket but a few weeks later received a £60 parking fine from Parking Eye claiming we only had a 2 hour ticket and had overrun by 20 mins. As it was a few weeks previous we had thrown away the ticket but distinctly remembered checking the ticket inside the car as the lightning was so poor at the payment machine. There was also a queue at the machine because it was not working properly and kept rejecting coins. Contacted PE to explain but they replied saying our appeal had failed but have given us a POPLA number to appeal further. They provided us with CCTV stills showing what time we arrived and left (we are not disputing this) but provided no evidence we only purchased a 2 hour ticket. They don’t know who the driver was. Pleas could you advise on the best course of action.

Thanking you in anticipation,
CharlieDontSurf

The photo capture is ANPR not CCTV

Go to the hotel, explain and request they get this cancelled, that's the first step

For PE tickets that arrive outside the 14-day window for keeper liability it is vitally important that the driver isn't identified.

    You said this:
    Contacted PE to explain
Can you copy exactly what you wrote in that 'explanation' - and I mean exactly, not paraphrasing or mere recollection, as that will have a major bearing on how you tackle this.

I'm afraid The Adelphi have previously been extremely unhelpful. We've seen a number of refusals, including one where the motorist was in the hotel negotiating a wedding reception and evening bash for a large number of guest. But that was a couple of years ago, so personnel may have changed (whether attitudes have as well remains to be seen!).

The Adelphi is part of Britannia Hotels which is voted the worst hotel chain in Britain every year, they don't care one jot every pound they earn they pocket with relish and they will be getting a rake off for every ticket PE issues.
But nothing to lose by trying a complaint to the manager, other than that it's an uphill struggle with PE unless the NTK arrived outside the 14 Day window and you haven't dobbed in the driver.

As already said there is no CCTV it's ANPR a different technical animal.

From memory, PE tickets for the Adelphi have been (unusually) PoFA non-compliant, for whatever reason ....

    Possibly still occurring ......
