Hello, I am new to the forum and I'm not totally sure if I'm putting this thread in the correct place. Basically I'm 24 years old and during 2018 till January 2019 I was self employed at a car wash. I gave my boss regular weekly invoices which most of the time he failed to pay on time (sometimes building up to almost 2 or 3 months worth).
I wasn't in any financial struggles so, since it was a friend (who I had worked for for 3 years prior) I allowed the invoices to build up as it was a new business and I wanted to make it easier for him.
I became employed by the company in November 2018 and he said he was paying up all the invoices before hand, over 2k at this point. He paid it in a lump sum and I thought that was the end of it. I left the job in January 2019 after a large fall out with my boss, and since I was without a job for a week before starting a new one, I decided to double check all the invoices had been paid.
They had not, there was a relatively small figure of £600 still unpaid. I asked him to pay it, showing him proof and I was met with verbal abuse and arrogance. So I started a small claims on the government website.
I studied and did everything to get to the point where he's now got a CCJ, and I'm sending bailiffs to collect what is mine. Upon receiving the letter from the bailiffs he sent me a text to say he was going to pay the debt in weekly instalments of £100, having been so tired and sick of waiting I agreed for him to send it every Friday.
He paid 2 instalments before Christmas of £100, then he missed a payment, then send me £20 the following week. His excuse is that he is 'showing willingness' to pay up, although I can't find anything online as to what this means. I've been friends with this guy for years so the bitter end to the friendship has come to cruel mind games just get what is a small amount of money.
I know this thread is long and complicated however I've lost all hope googling and trying to get advice elsewhere, I get sent round in circles or have long telephone waits to endure.
Basically, do I have a chance? Have I blown it by not taking care of my own finances? What should my next step be? Proceed with bailiffs to collect the rest?
Many thanks, David.

Escalate it to high court for £60, they will get it as his company has assetsDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
