Over 100,000 pounds in bank account

I wouldn't worry about it.
After my father died, my mother sold their house and the proceeds went into her current account. The amount involved was considerably more than £100,000. Soon after, she transferred the money to her investment account. (She'd moved into a care home, and so didn't need to buy another house.) She had no problems.
I assume that your concern arises from the idea that you might be thought to be money laundering? I think that that's something that would be handled at head office level, rather than the local branch.0 -
Hi,
I have over 100,000 pounds from sale of flat i want to deposit in my bank account.
Would I be arrested if I went into a branch and asked for a bank statement with that amount in my account?
Not many folk have that amount in their account you see.
Obviously it’s over the 85k limit.-
Lots of people have more than £100,000 in their bank accounts. For starters, house sales are common
-
Your bank already knows you have more than £100,000 in your account, asking for a statement won't change that.
-
Having more than £100,000 in your account is not an arrestable offence.

The £85,000 limit refers to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme - it is maximum amount the bank will pay you back if your bank collapses. However, for short periods of time, up to £1Million is covered - so that people who temporarily have a load more money in their account (e.g. following a house sale) don't lose out.
i.e.: No0 -
Anyone else thinking that the OP is a troll from reading their other posts???0

I was wondering what the OP was referring to when they mentioned the 85k limit.
I was going to ask what these people do that won millions on the lottery.
I understand now though with the 85k referring to compensation.0 -
I always believed that you could have as much as you like in a bank, but that over a certain amount might affect benefits if you receive them.0
