Vanquis Default

Options
Hi everyone,

I started a DMP in 2014 due to unfortunate circumtances and I will finish paying it off in the next few months. I'm looking at applying for a mortgage in 2021 and therefore, I'm trying to get my credit file sorted. One of the debts on my DMP is with Vanquis who I started to get into arrears with in 2014 but they didn't register a default until 2018 meaning that it won't fall off until 2024.

I have emailed about this but not had a response. Do you think it's possible that they would change the date of the default to 2014 when I made the arrangement through the dmp?

Many thanks

    Seasonal greetings to you. :)

Instead of an email, I suggest you send a letter (via Royal Mail), clearly marked 'complaint'.

The guidance states that an account should be defaulted, once it is 3-6 months in arrears.
Please see principle 4 of the guidance (linked below).

If you fall into arrears on your account, or you do not keep to the revised terms of an arrangement, a default may be recorded to show that the relationship has broken down.
As a general guide, this may occur when you are 3 months in arrears, and normally by the time you are 6 months in arrears.

    I love my job
