Emirates have changed flight time by 18 hours

Hi all,
I have read the MSE guide re flight times being changed and unfortunately there seems to be very little you can do, so i am just posting to see if anyone might have any advice if they have been in a similar situation to me.
I am flying to Dubai for 6 nights and from there flying to Pakistan. My flight from Dubai to Pakistan was due to leave on 11 Feb 11.55am. I just received an email from the booking agent that this has now changed to 12 February 6am. A change of a few hours would not be a problem but this means i will effectively be in Dubai for another day, i booked these flights and my hotel in the Summer so extending my hotel for another day is showing up as very expensive because it is closer to the time.
Is there anything i can do? Other than stumping up the cash for an extra night in my hotel.
Thanks

Will you need a hotel for another night - how many hours before the 6am flight do you have to check in? Could you get to the airport a bit sooner and have a few hours sleep there.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -

Hi there, i will. As previously my flight was departing midday on the 11th. Now it is departing 6 am on the 12th. I would need to be at the airport for 4am, even if we did some activities and dinner etc we would be finished up at 8pm - my family and i would need someplace to rest and relax between 8pm and 4am especially the children.0 -
I've just checked and you can get a room for 2 adults and 2 children at the Holiday Inn Express at the Airport for £84. Given you are holidaying in Dubai surely that's not expensive.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End

Firstly, see if there are any flights from the UAE to Pakistan on other airlines that are closer to your original departure time. If so, ask Emirates customer service to put you on to one of those instead (possibly with ground transport to the departure airport if it is Abu Dhabi or somewhere equally accessible). Failing that, you could ask about departures earlier than your planned travel date and see if that would be a good option, or explain that your hotel had been booked well in advance and ask them to pay for the extra night.0

You have not mentioned your exact routing. Have you looked on the airline website to see if there are other options? Remember that it will be a computer that rescheduled your flight rather than a human. If there is a better option that you find and like, call your agent or Emirates to request it.0

As you appear to have booked with an agent rather than direct with the airline it's probably not worth the hassle to try and get a better flight itinerary.
Next time book with the airline. There is never a benefit in handing control of your booking to a. third party0 -
Thanks everyone. I have provisionally booked another hotel near the airport for now, it is refundable as the current hotel was too expensive.
I am going to contact emirates anyway, not holding out much hope but i can see the original time is still available for booking on their website so that flight must still be going out.0 -
Hi
I would contact the agent you booked it through - it is them who will need to move you back to your original flight time.

This is nonsense on 2 levels
We booked open Jaw flights from LHR to BOS and NYC to LHR
EBookers on virgin £400 as presumably they would combine 2 singles
Virgin direct same flights £900
The flight was cancelled months before on the day we wanted to go
Ebookers rebooked us to change in NYC on outbound
1 phone call got this changed to direct flights the day before
I agree that if the prices are the same go with the airline is excellent advice0
