The safest advice in any CEL case is that the motorist must jump through every hoop that is put in front of them by CEL and the court and by the dates required, with the most likely outcome being a discontinuation. Failing at any stage will see CEL rush immediately for a judgment in default, then the workload for the motorist increases a few more notches.Well done OP in seeing them off. 🥂Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
