"Other Half's PPI"

Made a claim to RBS in time but about 6 weeks before deadline. They have just come back to me (end November) to say that there was money due on a joint account that I held with my then wife.

Great for me but as I get 50% but as ex won't get anything I understand as she hasn't made a claim. However, RBS will keep her 50% despite knowing there's money that should have been paid back. Is this right and fair or do they have a duty to inform her and reimburse?

Not really. I fear she's missed the opportunity to complain.

You are, of course, at liberty to inform her that she has a PPI refund awaiting her. Ask yourself if you are the one with the "duty" to tell her...;)

Certainly, they won't ever award her share to you. :)

    Why do you think that?
It is quite normal for them to contact the other party to let them know, if they hold the details.
