Good ethical / sustainable funds

Hi All,
I'm looking to identify good "ethical / sustainable" funds for a regular monthly payments.
I'm aware that "ethical / sustainable" could mean a wide range of things and is different for each individual but generally thinking no shares in oil, tobacco, arms.
Looking for long term growth in a well performing fund but happy to accept slightly lower returns for the underlying investments to meet the criteria.
Thanks in advance

One very large , well known company, Legal & General , have made quite a few green statements recently and have some funds as well .

Looking at the latest Moneywise magazine they rate the following in their latest awards
- Janus Henderson Global Sustainable Equity
- BMO Responsible Global Equity
- Liontrust Sustainable Future Global Growth
Or a mixed asset fund (85% equity, 15% bonds)
- Royal London Sustainable WorldI don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0 -
Ethical/sustainable funds publish which they include/do not include which allows filtering out those that do not match your objectives.but generally thinking no shares in oil, tobacco, arms.
So, you are not really looking at sustainable but ethical. However, your ethical restrictions are very light touch. So, you will have a wide choice available to you.0 -

Thanks they do seem to have some good greener and more ethical funds but the Legal & General (as with a few others) the green fund "Future World Climate Change Equity Factors Index Fund" still holds Oil & Gas shares, albeit at a lower percentage than a non adjusted fund. I've been struggling to find many than don't have any Oil & Gas.0 -

Well also sustainable as would like to invest in renewable vs oil so could argue that's both sustainable and ethical and I was just using a few examples. Quite a few funds I have seen as green still have some oil and gas shares but less than a similar general index fund and just trying to find reliable funds that don't hold any of those stocks.0 -
I have a small % in VT Gravis Clean Energy Income Fund, which I will probably increase gradually over the next few years if all goes well.0

Couple more at the eco end of the scale
Impax Environmental Markets IT
Montanaro Better World (quite high holdings in health sector)0 -
Considerable number of renewable energy and storage investment trusts are available to investors. Though generally trade at a premium to asset value such is the demand.
Watch for future IPO's and buy in at par value.0 -

Everybody has different ethics. That is why every fund that is classed as ethical publishes their list of what they wont invest in, what they will proactively invest in or what they are indifferent to.Well also sustainable as would like to invest in renewable vs oil so could argue that's both sustainable and ethical and I was just using a few examples.
Ethical could be that they do not invest in oil. It does not mean they pro-actively select sustainable companies. If you want sustainable as well, then you add that to your filtering.
People on this thread are posting examples of some ethical funds. Some haven't considered your ethical position and just listed some general ethical funds. Some have considered your positiion but, quite reasonably, based it on those few examples you gave. If that list is not complete then you are not going to get an accurate outcome.
So, until you decide your full list of ethical restrictions and objectives, any suggestions are largely pointless.0
