Can any one help! I have recently applied for a mortgage and on my Experian credit report I have a default notice with a company called Cabot. I have gone to them directly and asked them for information on the default which is six years old in March 2020. They have been unable to provide me with any evidence of this debt, and are refusing to consider that this is an error.
Does anyone know if this debt will be removed from my credit report after 6 years (March)?
Has anyone had a similar situation with this company, and if so, how did you get in contact with them?
I have emailed the CEO but still no response.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Just wait till it drops off your file in march, don`t rock the boat, they may just find details of the debt before it becomes statute barred if you do.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
