How to stop unsolicited gambling leaflets?

I keep getting junk mail from gambling websites delivered to my home address. It's always from sites I've never even heard of, and when I contact them to remove me from any marketing lists they always say they have no record of me and can't do anything about it.
Obviously there is some 3rd party company that's doing it on their behalf but there's nothing indicating who they are.
Is there anything I can do to stop this?

Just put them in your recycle bin.0 -
Are they actually addressed to you, are they addressed to the occupier of your address or is it just a leaflet, with none of your personal details at all?You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0

They are addressed directly to me.
It's always a glossy card advertising some random gambling site, in an envelope stating "Contains Marketing Material" on the front.
Throwing them out doesn't stop them coming, which is what I really need to happen.0 -
When you've contacted the companies involved, was it to their data control person/department? If you've just called a customer service number, I wouldn't expect them to necessarily know anything worthwhile about it (certainly not who they have advertising contracts with).
I'd try those avenues and then if its really bothering you that much, possibly the ICO.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

To recycle them would take more time - we don't have a recycling collection. The post box is on my dog walk. No issue to whack them back in. I have no idea if they get back or what issue (if any) they cause in administration but it's better than in landfill and a small part of me hopes it costs them money.0
