Considering shifting to Virgin Media from BT.

I know people on BT, i know people on Sky and i know someone with TalkTalk. I don't know anyone with Virgin Media.
I'm with BT currently and my 18 month contract will be up in a few months (although VM claim they will pay any leaving early charge i get hit with).
To be honest i have no real complaints regards BT's internet. Aside from the last couple weeks it's been stable, the speeds are decent (50meg-60meg i think) and the wifi coverage throughout the house is fine.
The landline - i just get the basic as tbh i only get this as you need it for the internet. It's cheaper to call people off my mobile and if ever i have an o2 signal hissy fit then that's when i'll use the landline (or at weekends)
The TV - don't watch a lot of it. Have had issues with reliability. They sent out a new box. Still have the occasional issue - the other day i couldn't change a channel, but the original problem seems to have been resolved. Their live chat service is helpful as i prefer to contact via this method.
Those that are with Virgin Media, especially those who've previously experienced BT and/or BT+Sky, what's your views on VM? Better or just different?
Also what about premium channels? Some times i pay for PPV events such as boxing that will be on BT Sport or Sky Sports Box Office. That isn't a problem? I'm guessing VM should have access to these channels?
